What is royal jelly?
Royal jelly is also called "bee's milk" and for good reason: pale in color and more liquid than honey, it is secreted especially to nourish the larvae during their development, as well as the queen throughout her existence. Harvesting royal jelly is more technical and particular than that of honey, because it is produced in small quantities by bees and is not stored: it requires encouraging the bees to create queen cells and raise young larvae of future queens, to which the jelly is supplied longer and in greater quantity than the larvae of workers.
Royal jelly is a rarer product, which is not harvested in all beekeeping farms, and the amount of harvest is much lower than that of honey: from 300 g to 1 kg per year and per hive depending on the bee species, instead of an average of 25 kg for honey

Royal jelly is a nutrient, intended for the growth of bee larvae and the longevity of the queen. It is therefore naturally rich in many active ingredients. It contains in particular amino acids, trace elements and vitamins. It is particularly known for being the natural product with the highest content of vitamin B5. It also contains acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter involved in memory and learning capacities, and active antibiotics. 2 to 5% of royal jelly is composed of 10-HDA, a fatty acid known for its immunomodulatory properties and its antibacterial benefits.
